Open Field exhibition

Open Field title A giant version of my balancing beams demonstration is/was part of the Open Field exhibition at the Centre for Contemporary Art in Glasgow, running between 21st November 2008 and 17th January 2009.

Floor 1 of Glasgow Science Centre

Fish-eye view of floor 1 This was the largest of Glasgow Science Centre's original 4 interactive galleries. The gallery title was Exploration and Discovery, and most of the exhibits concerned classical physics - mechanics, optics, fluids, electricity and magnetism etc. On opening, it contained nearly 100 exhibits. I was the member of GSC staff responsible for working with the exhibit contractors to deliver the gallery content.

The Puzzlemania mathematics exhibition

A Galton Board that I designed As a freelancer, I was engaged as science consultant on this collaboration between Glasgow Science Centre and Explore@Bristol. I worked on the exhibit selection, prototyping, some building, and I also wrote most of the texts.

Phaeno, Wolfsburg, Germany

The Phaeno Building I was engaged by Hüttinger Exhibition Engineering to work on English texts for every exhibit in the large new Phaeno science centre. I was then engaged by the City of Wolfsburg to write 20 supplementary, in-depth, texts for exhibits.

Glasgow Science Centre Illusions Wall

The illusions wall I was engaged as consultant to GSC to work on the reworking of a small exhibition area on visual illusions. We improved and rehoused some existing exhibits, and added some new ones as well. I was involved with design, prototyping, building, and text writing.
