What I do

Hands-on science exhibitions

Glasgow Science Centre I have worked on a number of hands-on science exhibition projects, all for Glasgow Science Centre. The first, and largest, of these, was one of the original interactive galleries at GSC while I was an employee there. I worked on the other projects as consultant.

Creating and building

Walking on water I have devised and built various original science demonstrations and exhibit prototypes, two of which have won prizes. I have also built show props for other people, and other more pointless devices such as a pair of floating shoes.

Shows and talks

Ben giving a science show about hair I have created and performed three science shows (one of which involves me losing all my hair) and contributed to a number of others. I have also delivered some more serious talks about science.

Writing

An article I wrote for the Daily Record A lot of my work involves writing: texts for hands-on and other exhibitions, activities for schools, website content, and the odd newspaper article.

I do studio teaching on the Product Design Engineering degree course at Glasgow School of Art. When I worked at Stirling University I developed and presented the undergraduate unit on Perception.
